Kristin Garcia | The Verge OKC, Executive Director
Kristin Garcia serves the Executive Director The Verge OKC, a 501(c)(3), that connects our rising entrepreneurial community to the people and resources they need to progress their vision and transform great ideas into impactful businesses. Since January 2022, Kristin has been the driving force behind creating The Verge and supporting the developing entrepreneurship ecosystem. Kristin formerly served as the Startup Specialist for the Francis Tuttle Technology Center AXIS Programs supporting entrepreneurs in the Edmond community and created a pre-accelerator. Prior, Kristin joined the Tom Love Innovation Hub team at the University of Oklahoma in December of 2017, managing the Code Lab and supporting startup program development. Kristin worked at a tech startup for 3 years, Purepost, focused on solving Veteran hiring problems and talent transition technology where her brother and father serve as co-founders with their team on the West Coast.
With over 15 years in higher education and startup experience between Oklahoma, Texas and California, Kristin believes in the focus on entrepreneurship led economic development and the value of the ecosystem towards the innovation of the area. This experience combined with her Masters in Organizational Development from the University of the Incarnate Word, a certification in professional and executive coaching from the University of Dallas, and a bachelors from the Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma provides her with the knowledge to support business and startup development in the Oklahoma City metro and beyond.
She currently serves as the Global Entrepreneurship Week State Coordinator for Oklahoma, a member of the organizing team for 1 Million Cups Oklahoma City, an advisory board member for Teach for America Oklahoma, an Entrepreneur in Residence for the OU Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Department, and former Board Member of Techlahoma. Kristin calls San Antonio, TX home and is a proud Army Brat who has traveled the world. She currently lives in Norman, OK with her husband Chris Aguilar and their 3 dogs.
