About the Presenter

Tina Sumler | SPA Accounting/The Grant Accountant and Centralized Grants, Owner

Tina Sumler is a dedicated expert in grant accounting and management, with a passion for empowering organizations to secure and manage funding effectively. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a Master of Business Administration from Tiffin University.

With over 14 years of experience managing grants from a diverse range of funding sources, including Federal, State, Corporate, and Foundation agencies, Tina has provided expert grant services to small businesses, nonprofits, and educational institutions. Her career includes several years of dedicated work at three distinguished Carnegie R1: High Research institutions, where she honed her expertise in grant management and compliance. Her experience spans grant management, compliance, and financial reporting, complemented by extensive training through programs like Grant Management Concepts, the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA), the Society of Research Administrators (SRA), and funding agency-specific training.

As the founder of SPA Accounting and its expansion, *The Grant Accountant*, Tina leverages her experience and training to provide tailored grant accounting services to underserved populations, including small businesses and nonprofits. Recognizing the importance of holistic support for grant funding, she has also launched *Centralized Grants*, a business dedicated to grant writing and administration. Tina’s mission is to empower organizations to secure and manage funding effectively, driving growth and impact in their communities.
